Halloween is right around the corner! Time for pumpkin carving and parties!
One of my favorite things when the cold nights come upon us is a warm and cosy cup of Spiced Cider!
Here's my recipe:
Ginger Spiced Cider
1 bottle of apple cider (64 oz)
1 bottle of Martinelli's sparkling cider - room temp
1 spice bag
1 orange
For the spice bag: take cheese cloth double it and cut a 8"x8" square.
3 cinnamon sticks broken up
4 star anise
2 cardamom pods
4 slices of fresh ginger
Place the spices in the center of the square and tie up with kitchen string.
Pour the bottle of apple cider in to a crock pot. Add the spice bag. Slice the orange thinly and place the slices in the cider. Put the lid on and turn to high. Let sit for 3-4 hours while it perfumes your house with the heavenly sent of fall.
Just before serving pour in the Martinelli's for a sparkling hot cider. Yum!
Here's one of my favorite things to wear this time of year too:
